Saturday & Sunday, 28st & 29nd November, 2009

Guess who scored lots of Zanda cuddles this weekend? :P

Alex surprised me by turning up just after 8 Saturday morning and the very first thing he did was to give me huge cuddles :D It was wonderful to see him so soon after last weekend.

After catching up for a while we caught a bus to Unanderra, first port of call was the Lifeline Bookshop to see what they had for us today. I managed to find 3 books that took my fancy, first was Mad Cows by Kathy Lette, March by Geraldine Brooks and Labryinth by Kate Mosse. Alex unfortunately didn't find any books he was after.

Next we went to Lots of Bubbles aquarium shop to pick up some fishy foods I was after. Alex and I checked out all their fish but none screamed out "take me home!", which I gotta tell you is pretty unusual...

Frustratingly, the bus had arrived a couple of minutes earlier than the scheduled time so we had to sit in the heat and wait another hour for the next one. Doubly frustrating was the fact that there was track work on the train line this weekend so we couldn't even catch a train home. Regardless, we sat, chatted and drank some nice cold drinks that Alex went and got for us. When Alex started playing a game on my phone I went to check out a dress shop and found a pretty skirt and matching top. Lucky me! Books AND clothes all in one day!

Home again and all we wanted to do was escape the heat and relax - Alex picked the Matrix trilogy for us to watch. I hadn't seen those movies for a while so was happy to watch them again and munch on the Skittles Alex had brought down with him :P

Sunday was much cooler thank goodness, since Alex was in full relax mode he voted we watch more dvds. No idea what it is with my kids and wanting to watch dvds all the time! Anyhow, after I got some chores out of the way we watched Shrek 3, The Patriot and Oceans 11. Alex was deliberately trying to shake things up by picking 3 totally different movies! LOL

Alex also gave me a demonstration of his 100 out of 100 presentation he did for a TAFE class this week. I am so impressed the way his marks have improved this semester! It is wonderful that he is seeing results from studying and keeping on top of assignments and classwork! Great job Honey!

It was sad to see Alex go and sadder to find out that I won't get to see him next fortnight, he has a get together with some friends that Saturday night, but I am glad he is getting to go to it. It was wonderful to get loads of hugs and the girls were happy about all the pats and love they got too! :D

Alex leaves and Josh arrives back home. It is difficult switching over from missing one to being happy about seeing the other back safe and sound, and listening to all he got up to. Since Josh and his dad had gotten Josh's pushie fixed, we went out for a walk/ride down by the lake. It helped the change over of being Zanda's mummy back to Josh's mummy a little more.

I also started the Kate Mosse book tonight. So far I am really enjoying the descriptive way it is written and the intriguing storyline.
