I got my Zanda cuddles today!!! YAY!!!

Josh went out to breakfast and shopping with his dad while Zanda and I got to spend some wonderful time together.

After chatting for a while, Zanda showed me everything he brought down on his memory stick. He had some funny pictures, lots of Garfield comic strips, and then showed me his current favourite NewGrounds clips. Then when we went back to hanging on the bed, he was checking out my iPod Touch and downloaded a joke program and proceeded to share some of them with me. :) We had a great time. I couldn't believe how tired I got while he was here and I honestly think that it was just me finally getting to relax comfortably.

After Zanda left around 12ish I finished my bookgroup book and took it back to the library for the next person to collect and reserved a couple of other books that I am hoping arrive to Oak Flats library before Christmas holidays.

My bookgroup book this month was Georgina Harding's, The Spy Game. I found it blandly written but the story was interesting. It was one of those books that you read that doesn't make an impact on you.

This afternoon and tonight I worked really hard moving all the tanks back to the main room. What a feat that was! 8 hours of moving fish tanks! sheesh I do think that has exceeded all personal best times. LOL

Now just tidying up from that, doing laundry and dishes plus straightening up as tomorrow is going to be a hectic day Christmas shopping, running errands and doing the normal fortnightly things.

Such a busy, busy day...

First up kicked Josh out of bed so he could finish painting the bookcase for me :P cheeky me ;) After the painting was done we went up the road to update his Bendigo bank book for Centrelink, change some coins to notes and pick up medications from the chemist.

While waiting at the chemist Joshua saw Hedy walking up the road and called into me that she was coming. I couldn't believe it when I saw her! Hedy was in a neck brace and pushing one of those shopping baskets with the seat all in one... I was so surprised. Hedy today me that a year ago she broke her neck and all the horrific things that she has been through since! I was once again astounded at what people can go manage to go through without a choice. She was told that now there is nothing else for the drs to do and she will have to wear the neck brace and cope with the pain for the rest of her life! Thankfully she has found another doctor which holds a glimmer of hope for her if she passes a bone density test. My thoughts and prayers are with her while she waits to find out.

Josh and I then dropped the medication off back home and caught a bus to The Square. Today is the day that we take the Centrelink forms in for Josh's Youth Allowance Application, armed with all the documentation they could possibly want. Turns out there was nothing else they needed!! Woohoo!! Fridays melt down looking for all the documents and updating banking details were all worth it!! :D Now we just wait to hear back from them...

Prior to going up to Centrelink I went into the optometrist to see when I could make an appointment only to find they had one available at 4.30 YaY! so Josh and I wondered around till the due time and I went to get my test. Josh picked two amazing pairs of glasses for me! He is so good that way. Me? I can never do it with the ease and finesse he does.

Two weeks of my life ie; chatting, friends, blogging, reading, crafting, baking, cooking yummo meals, playing with pets, looking after fish, going for walks, spending time with kids, GONE. stoopid painting. I WANT MY LIFE BACK!!!

3 sleeps till Zanda cuddles!!!

re Friday, 18th December 2009

OMG had a total melt down yesterday morning and a total breakdown last night.

Usually as long as my home life is stable I can cope with everything else. But between bloody painting that has taken over everything, my house in total disarray because of it and my little girl who is not at all happy, and Josh who is not a happy chappy either, home life is not stable in the least.

Whilst trying to pull myself together after major melt down yesterday morning I wrote out a list of things that are stressing me out at the moment. Gee what a list. It is really interesting when you do that.

It comes as no surprise to me that painting had the most points when it comes to stresses. Besides being so very sick of painting, I can't believe how long it has taken for the small amount that I have accomplished. The swelling and pain from it has been intense, with me needing to take a day or two off between sections with extra medication. The extra meds stuff up my sleep which really doesn't help. This, of course, has lead to the realisation that this job is just beyond my capabilites now and that hurts more than the stupid arthritis... My whole home being turned upside down from moving furniture and things out of the way is a nightmare. Not to mention that I feel that Zanda is being eradicated with each brush stroke. No more Zanda blue bedroom paint... and to top everything off I miss my fish. OMG how insane does that sound? but I do. I miss my fish (which are in Josh's room). And last but not least, when I finish the days painting, I then have to turn around and do all the chores and cooking that I would have usually been doing. For some unknown reason Josh just hasn't helped at all. *sigh* but he is going through his own stuff at the moment.

So yeah, after looking at all the negative points re the painting I have given myself permission to stop painting and put myself and my house back together. That's it, enough. Can't do this anymore.

So last night I asked Josh to ring his brother and tell him to call me sometime tonight when he has the chance, as i knew that talking to Zanda would help me feel better. Well then the STUPID phone decides not to work, which was the last straw for me. I sat there on the floor and bawled... OMG try to help myself and then that happens. Josh comes out and asks what's going on and heaps of this spill out. Josh promises to start helping with the painting. HA on the very day I give up! Anyway he makes me a great cuppa, digs out some white chocolate that's hiding in the cupboard and he calls his brother on his iPhone so I could still talk to him. What a guy. When he pulls it together, he really pulls it together. So I did get to talk to Zanda last night. :) After Zanda being worried as to why I was crying omg he offers to help me with the painting when he comes down this week! HA another offer of painting help on the day I give up. Weird. If only people had helped me before I had a breakdown about it...

Anyway had a great conversation with Zanda catching up on what's been happening with him. He told me of the games his been playing, the movie he went to see and lots of other things. I felt much much better after spending some time with him.

Oh and I helped myself over the problem of feeling that Zanda was being eradicated with painting over his blue bedroom colour. I put one on his small stuffed toys, Pooper Scooper Evie (as we call her) ontop of my stereo, and hung a picture that he drew of our block of flats complete with rose garden, satellite dish and drive way hanging on the back of the front door. :) feels much better now, with reminders of him around. Plus I had already decorated my room with some of gifts he and Josh had given me, so yeah... feeling better about having my Zanda things around. :)

and kudos to Scott for emailing hugs to me in the midst of my morning meltdown... as soon as I read the email, I was reminded to take a deep breath and relax. Thanks Scott for your impeccable timing as always *hugs*

Tuesday, 8th December 2009

Between painting and not sleeping properly I'm feeling pretty exhausted and sore today.

So after doing the last coat of paint on the wall, I kept pretty quiet. Read a little, talked to friends on msn and had a nap in the afternoon.

Josh brought his school report home this afternoon. His report was amazing and he even got a Principals Award!! I am so very proud of him. :D

Monday, 7th December 2009

I have had a really emotional draining day today. Missing out on loads of sleep hasn't helped much.

Jorgen's nanna died in the middle of the night (Aussie time), sadly she never woke up from her coma. She was an amazing lady and will be sorely missed. My thoughts and love go to him and his family.

I went to the shops really early this morning to beat the heat and the Christmas crowds. The weather got to 31 today. Yuk. But on the positive note it was a great day for painting and getting the paint to dry. I am soooo happy with the paint colour. It looks fantastic! I can't wait to show Ruth what a good pick she made :P

I have found it hilarious to notice that when telling my female friends that I am painting they are immediately like, "Oh great! What colour, show me" and none of my male friends asked. Not one. Hilarious!

Talking of painting... the funniest thing happened today. Both my cats were being really inquisitive as to what was going on and playing around the floor tarp and drop sheets. Miss Peggie leaped out at Miss Pixel - Pixel does one of those amazing jumps and turns that startled cats do and lands smack bang in the middle of the paint tray!!! LMAO She was so startled, she took off running leaving paint paw prints all over the floorboards. It was comical!! Where was a video camera when you need one? So I catch her, wash the paint off her as best I can and call the vets to double check that licking any residue paint off won't harm her.

Got to spend some time with Ben this morning - which was fabulous. He is a really interesting guy and we never run out of thing to talk about. Also got to spend some wonderful time with Scott today. Today was one of those days that it really hits me what an amazing friend he is, how much I love him and how grateful I am that he is in my life. A girl couldn't ask for a better BFF.

Deanne surprised me by stopping by while I was painting. We haven't gotten together for a while so it was great to catch up. It was really difficult telling her that I had to put Tash down. She loved Tash and was always preteneding to try and take him home with her, leaving bags open on the floor trying to entice him into them lol

I am just so glad it is the end of the day now. I can't wait to collapse into bed - I don't think I will get much reading in tonight somehow :P

Saturday & Sunday, 5th & 6th December 2009

Josh and I had a ball playing Upwords last night. There is never any hope of us playing with serious people because we cheat outrageously when we don't have any helpful letters. Pinching letters we need off the board, or looking for one in the pile of tiles is all part of the fun. In the end we were also making words up and putting them into sentences in an attempt to justify their legitimacy for example "mons" - a sentence for "mons" went something like this - (said in a Jamaican accent) "I'm going out with the mons tonight, bro" :P

Too tired to do anyting today other than muck around on the computer, chat and play games on the iPod. :P

Spent some time on msn with The Shane today. He asked me last night if I was on Facebook, so I ended up joining today. (O M G everyone's always asking me that!) I tried joining once before but got freaked out because so many people were adding me and alot of them were from my blocked msn list, plus the fact that Facebook showed my last name - I really don't need any stalkers finding me, duh! Besides all that it's just sooo different. Shane said he would RAWR at people if they harrassed me LOL How could a girl refuse an offer like that? ;) So for people who are interested my Facebook account is under Clarissa Jane.

For lunch Josh went up the road to get chips and buns which was pretty yummy. Then later he went to Coles to pick up a box of chocolate Paddle Pops! deeeeeeelicious!!

Pixie has been in a funny mood all day, wandering around, wanting to know what I'm doing. She and Miss Peggie have started rumbling a little now that I have taken Peggie off her anti anxiety tablets. Peggie hates being on those tablets, she just isn't herself at all on them. Now that she isn't on them she is also driving Josh totally insane with wanting attention and Peggie Pat Times (poor Josh).

Gotta tell you it feels weird not having three cats anymore. There is just this huge gap missing. There is no other way to put it.

Tonight went on Persons again and chatted to a few nice guys. Met this one guy, Ben, who was really interesting to talk to and had me in stitches till midnight! O M G I never chat that late! He even promised me a couple of fish tanks he has sitting in his garage doing nothing! How awesome is that!

The funniest thing happened tonight as well - The cats were sitting at the back screen door when without warning Miss Peggie leaps at the screen, starts hissing, hackles all fluffed up - she scared the beejesus out of me and Miss Pixie... While I catch Miss Pixie, Peggie throws herself at the screen door again in a maddened frenzy. I quickly shut the door and holla for Josh to come help. He checks and finds a silver tabby sitting outside. Peggie then takes off like a flash outside after this cat! OMG a mostly black cat outside in the middle of the night, who never goes outside, chasing this poor cat in a pyscho frenzy! Josh amazingly managed to grab her in her manic state and comes back inside proudly telling me his cat slammed the silver tabby into the bins!! LMAO - GO Miss Peggie!!!

Sunday

Had another quiet day. Though I did manage to get some odd jobs done around the place and Josh filled the dents in the wall that I am painting tomorrow. Josh went for a bike ride over to the vets to pick up some of Miss Peggie's medicated food for me while I started filling the recently repaired tanks with water to water test them for anymore leaks/problems.

In the afternoon Josh and I laid in bed and watched episodes of Firefly. We hadn't seen it for a while and both really like that show. Pity it got canned after one season :(

Ben came online just after 6 tonight so we got to talking till dinner time.

After a yummy dinner of mashed potato with lashings of gravy, Josh and I decided to cool down by going for a walk/bike ride down by the lake again. Just as we were walking out the door Brenda came around to take the garbage out and commented that she hasn't been down the lake track for years so she ended up coming with us! Which was really cool!!

A bit after we got back home, Ben and I started chatting again. Can you believe we chatted till midnight again? LOL I find it so easy talking with him. We often talk of pets, animals, wildlife and got onto the subject of photography... I asked him if he had ever seen the Wildlife Photography Exhibition at the Australian Museum and he hadn't.. I was telling him that the kids and I would be going again this year as it was so incredible last year... and O M G Ben is going to come with us this year! Josh was stunned when I told him because I never agree to met any online guys LOL So yeah all of us are looking forward to it so much! I can't wait!
I finally managed to clear the long wall of all fish tanks, fish, fish related things, the two 6 foot stands and now I'm too exhaused to do painting! LMAO

Friday, 4th December 2009

This morning I brought some new skirting boards for the wall behind the fish tanks. I figured I might as well do that at the same time. I have been meaning to do the rest of the skirting boards for a while now...

I got to spend some time emailing with Scott, which always makes my day. Also chatted to Jorgen on msn.

I moved the top row of nursery tanks, this morning and then rewarded myself with a 2 hour nap afterwards LOL. What can I say? it's hard work! now only three tanks to go. *groans* At this rate I am going to be too sore to do any painting LOL

Pixie sent her Uncle Mark another email today. Her Uncle Mark is the man that found and rescued her from the very bad man that was hurting her. Uncle Mark was also the man that brought her all the way down here to live with me. Lucky me! So from time to time Pixie sends her Uncle Mark emails telling him how she is, what she's been getting up to and photos to show how big she is getting. What a clever cat!

Got to talk to The Shane on msn this afternoon. He always makes me smile. I always get to relax and kick back when he is around.

Tonight I had fun chatting on persons again. There have been some interesting people to talk to lately. Thank goodness the jerks are few and far between at the moment.

Gotta go, Josh just asked if we can play Upwords,
be safe everyone

OMG OMG OMG

So far I have mastered YouTube on the iPod Touch, Google, set my email addy up, added weather updates for me and my overseas friends, set the world clock to show all the time zones for my overseas friends, added eBuddy (msn program) and tonight Josh put some games on it! and photos! and I got to set my first wallpaper for the iPod Touch too!! woohoo!!

I know, I know, small things amuse small minds :P

This morning I moved most of the aquariums into Josh's room - in preparation for painting. Will move the nursey tanks tomorrow.

My neighbour, Brenda, came and chatted to me for a good while at the back steps. I also got to chat with Scott via email for a while. Plus checked in with Jorgen from time to time to see how he is holding up and if there was anymore news about his nan.

By lunchtime I was exhausted from moving tanks so had a nap, Miss Pixie came and cuddled up to me which is always wonderful. Brenda, got to meet Miss Pixel this afternoon too - Brenda was lucky enough to get lots of pats in, Pixie is usually very shy of people.

Tonight, chatted on Persons for a while, then Josh loaded my iPod up with games. My reading time is getting less and less LOL

Off to go play,

ARGH, the pressures on!

The library called to let me know my book group book is in for me to pick up! But but but I still haven't finished the book I'm reading *cries* well guess I can manage both books within two weeks... well, if I can stop dancing to the iPod that is! hehehe

Had a really sad, missing Tash morning... went online and saw my good morning email from Scott and was telling him I was feeling down about Tash, his reply was --

Great big huge warm loving wolfie hug for his angel …. To make all her sadness go away…

That or I will put on my cat costume ( we won’t ask why I have one) and I will purr around your feet

Cat costume? LMAO that totally had me in stitches. A girl just can't be sad with friends around like this!

Miss Peggie also wasn't going to let me get away with being sad. She decided it was what we call Peggie Pat Time, for most of the day, the only thing you are allowed to do is to pat and adore her, nothing else, no typing, talking on the phone, housework, reading, nothing. LOL and she gets quite vocal about it as Ruth discovered!

Ruth came around this morning to help me out with repairing some aquarium tanks. Before we did that she was checking out all the new baby fish and the humongous Convict Cichlids.. I was telling her how I was about to move the tanks into Josh's room for a while, so that I could paint.. she asked what colour and was unimpressed with my unimaginative answer of cream again? LMAO I just had absolutely no idea what else to paint BUT Ruth set me straight ;) she picked an amazing colour I would have never noticed. It goes with everything and will look fabulous when it's done. So onto the tanks next, Ruth was the silastic gungirl and I got the job of smoothing it out. I am sooooo happy those two tanks are done. Now just have to wait a couple of days, then I can water test them. Yippee! I have so many fish in buckets and plastic storage containers waiting for new homes. Not long now guys, promise :)

After Ruth left, I went up the road to the library to pick up Victoria Hislop's, The Island - our latest bookgroup book - and then went up to the hardware shop to buy the paint!! I am sooo happy about getting to decorate my room!

Chatted to Jorgen last night and throughout the day - his nanna is in hospital real sick at the moment, so keeping him company while he waits for more news on her condition. Sending good healing thoughts to you, Jorgen's nanna.

I also logged into Persons to chat tonight. Haven't been there for a while and the powers that be have changed the format yet again *laughs* sheesh What is it with them?

So now just chilling out... time to go find little Miss Pixel for her nightly meds. *sigh*

Tuesday, 1st December 2009

Pretty cool day weatherwise for the first day of summer...

Got some housework out of the way quickly this morning so I could go read for a while :P Rang Ruth, who was setting up her newest 2 foot tank so went around to see it - it is looking great! While I was there she was arranging plants and then we put some of her baby guppies into it. :D She also helped me out by cutting a piece of glass that I wanted to fit over a crack in a tank I am repairing at the moment. Plus I managed to score a cichlid rock off her that she didn't want... I am going to put that in the 4 foot tank when I set it up, for the princess cichlids. Our kids get home from high school earlier on Tuesdays but Ruth said she was holding me hostage till we finished putting the finishing touches on her new 2 foot tank - it was hilarious - oh and O M G never test an aquarium heater without submerging it in water folks... and then never submerge it and hold it cause it's gonna burn you... *not looking at anyone in particular, Ruth :P* LMAO

Went up the road this afternoon to pick up my injections from the chemist... stopped by St Vinnies to see if they happened to have the second Kate Mosse book but found a hardcover edition of Bryce Courtney's, The Power of One and Tandia instead :P oh plus a skirt! I couldn't resist the skirt - even though it is shorter than I usually wear (it is just below the knee), the material is eyecatching. Glad I have been picking up some clothes lately - I really needed them since losing alot of weight plus gonna need clothes for college next year ;)

Talking of college - Josh and I received our acceptance letters in the mail this afternoon!!! YaY! *mumbles, after filling out all those goddam forms we better have gotten in* :P

Spent the rest of the afternoon reading and then listening to the iPod - I discovered iTunes on it! Woohoo! so was watching heaps of Maxi Priest clips and then lots of other songs - so much so that the battery died hehehe Maxi Priest rulz btw ;)

Off to go read again...

Monday, 30th November 2009

Another cool day, weatherwise.

Good news - after talking to Ruth last week and finding out that our children's high school pays for their correspondence courses, I spoke to Illawarra Senior College about it and they agreed to pay for the Biology correspondence course that Josh and I will be doing next year! YaY! One phone call saved me paying $240 - it really does pay to ask ;) So this morning I went to the college to sign a couple more forms to finalise that :)

Stopped at Westfield Warrawong on the way home to pick up some christmas presents for Alex... found a couple of tshirts with funny one liners for Josh, which he liked... checked out the fish at the aquarium shop... it started raining on the bus on the way home so got to walk in the rain again. Making it twice this month I got to enjoy walking in the rain :P

I am totally engrossed in my Kate Mosse book, Labyrinth. I don't want to put it down! Checking it out online I found that this is the first of a trilogy, only the first and second books are available at the moment, so now I am keeping my eyes out for the second book.

Josh finally got around to setting up the iPod Touch for me tonight!
Since he now has his iPhone, the iPod Touch is feeling neglected so he offered it to me - which I was pretty happy about. iPods are great as not only can I listen to my music when I am out and about, I can also listen to my audio books!

Anyway, sneaking off to read some more of my book and listen to some music ;)

Saturday & Sunday, 28st & 29nd November, 2009

Guess who scored lots of Zanda cuddles this weekend? :P

Alex surprised me by turning up just after 8 Saturday morning and the very first thing he did was to give me huge cuddles :D It was wonderful to see him so soon after last weekend.

After catching up for a while we caught a bus to Unanderra, first port of call was the Lifeline Bookshop to see what they had for us today. I managed to find 3 books that took my fancy, first was Mad Cows by Kathy Lette, March by Geraldine Brooks and Labryinth by Kate Mosse. Alex unfortunately didn't find any books he was after.

Next we went to Lots of Bubbles aquarium shop to pick up some fishy foods I was after. Alex and I checked out all their fish but none screamed out "take me home!", which I gotta tell you is pretty unusual...

Frustratingly, the bus had arrived a couple of minutes earlier than the scheduled time so we had to sit in the heat and wait another hour for the next one. Doubly frustrating was the fact that there was track work on the train line this weekend so we couldn't even catch a train home. Regardless, we sat, chatted and drank some nice cold drinks that Alex went and got for us. When Alex started playing a game on my phone I went to check out a dress shop and found a pretty skirt and matching top. Lucky me! Books AND clothes all in one day!

Home again and all we wanted to do was escape the heat and relax - Alex picked the Matrix trilogy for us to watch. I hadn't seen those movies for a while so was happy to watch them again and munch on the Skittles Alex had brought down with him :P

Sunday was much cooler thank goodness, since Alex was in full relax mode he voted we watch more dvds. No idea what it is with my kids and wanting to watch dvds all the time! Anyhow, after I got some chores out of the way we watched Shrek 3, The Patriot and Oceans 11. Alex was deliberately trying to shake things up by picking 3 totally different movies! LOL

Alex also gave me a demonstration of his 100 out of 100 presentation he did for a TAFE class this week. I am so impressed the way his marks have improved this semester! It is wonderful that he is seeing results from studying and keeping on top of assignments and classwork! Great job Honey!

It was sad to see Alex go and sadder to find out that I won't get to see him next fortnight, he has a get together with some friends that Saturday night, but I am glad he is getting to go to it. It was wonderful to get loads of hugs and the girls were happy about all the pats and love they got too! :D

Alex leaves and Josh arrives back home. It is difficult switching over from missing one to being happy about seeing the other back safe and sound, and listening to all he got up to. Since Josh and his dad had gotten Josh's pushie fixed, we went out for a walk/ride down by the lake. It helped the change over of being Zanda's mummy back to Josh's mummy a little more.

I also started the Kate Mosse book tonight. So far I am really enjoying the descriptive way it is written and the intriguing storyline.

Looking forward to Zanda cuddles tomorrow!!!

Didn't get much sleep last night, only 4 hours then nothing till an hour before the alarm went off. The kitten was acting very sooky and very cuddly all night which suited me perfectly. She misses her Tash so badly. So do I. Since I couldn't get into either of my two books I decided to watch a movie - since I brought some Heath Ledger movies lately I picked Brokeback Mountain. What a non event this movie was. As slow as it was it didn't even manage to put me sleep - maybe I was too traumatised seeing Heath Ledger and that guy together, in *that* way. lol

This morning I took off shopping real early to beat the crowds and the heat. When I walked in the door Ruth was calling, so got to chat with her for a while. Unloaded groceries and then got stuck into rearranging some tanks and cleaning them out... busy busy busy

Fell asleep for a little while before Josh got home, soon after that Mick came around to pick up some fish... When I was saying goodbye to him I saw a neighbour watering her plants so went and chatted to her for a while. Got to chat with The Shane on msn and listen to some music with him which was great. He tackle hugged me when I came online which was pretty hilarious! I got told not to be gone for so long next time lol It's always nice to be missed.

Shane wrapped up our music tonight with one of my absolute favourite songs - Good Charlotte's, Dance Floor Anthem!!!

Joshua had the brilliant idea of going for a walk/skate tonight as it was still so hot - while Josh was getting ready I quickly made us a picnic dinner and we had that down at the park before going to get ice creams.

The view from our picnic table was spectacular -

Wednesday, 25th November, 2009

Had a busy morning feeding the menagerie, emptying out a tank, readying another couple of tanks for repairs and then collapsing onto the bed by lunchtime to finish my book.

The book How to Kill Your Husband (and other household hints) by Kathy Lette was a great read. I loved the fact how it ended on a happy note for all three of the friends.

I sat out the front for a couple of hours in the cool breeze after another hot day. Amazing the things you see when you just get to sit for a while. I got to see a big yellowy orange wasp dragging a huntsman spider back to its nest, a little finch like bird with yellow on its wings and a red beak feeding on the grass seeds in our lawn, and little lizards scampering around always looking busy. Next time I sit out there I am definitely taking my camera ;)

Talking of cameras, Josh and I had our pics with Tash tonight.
