Pretty cool day weatherwise for the first day of summer...

Got some housework out of the way quickly this morning so I could go read for a while :P Rang Ruth, who was setting up her newest 2 foot tank so went around to see it - it is looking great! While I was there she was arranging plants and then we put some of her baby guppies into it. :D She also helped me out by cutting a piece of glass that I wanted to fit over a crack in a tank I am repairing at the moment. Plus I managed to score a cichlid rock off her that she didn't want... I am going to put that in the 4 foot tank when I set it up, for the princess cichlids. Our kids get home from high school earlier on Tuesdays but Ruth said she was holding me hostage till we finished putting the finishing touches on her new 2 foot tank - it was hilarious - oh and O M G never test an aquarium heater without submerging it in water folks... and then never submerge it and hold it cause it's gonna burn you... *not looking at anyone in particular, Ruth :P* LMAO

Went up the road this afternoon to pick up my injections from the chemist... stopped by St Vinnies to see if they happened to have the second Kate Mosse book but found a hardcover edition of Bryce Courtney's, The Power of One and Tandia instead :P oh plus a skirt! I couldn't resist the skirt - even though it is shorter than I usually wear (it is just below the knee), the material is eyecatching. Glad I have been picking up some clothes lately - I really needed them since losing alot of weight plus gonna need clothes for college next year ;)

Talking of college - Josh and I received our acceptance letters in the mail this afternoon!!! YaY! *mumbles, after filling out all those goddam forms we better have gotten in* :P

Spent the rest of the afternoon reading and then listening to the iPod - I discovered iTunes on it! Woohoo! so was watching heaps of Maxi Priest clips and then lots of other songs - so much so that the battery died hehehe Maxi Priest rulz btw ;)

Off to go read again...

Sunday, 15th November 2009

Had a quiet Sunday.

Woke up in the middle of the night to find one of the aquarium tanks leaking. It had only a third water left in it, so had to deal with that. From then on I didn't make it back to sleep. By 5am I couldn't stay in bed any longer, so got a jump start to the day by doing dishes and laundry.

I also managed to score a four foot fish tank for nothing, the guy even delivered it for me! How cool was that? So I spent some time cleaning it and checking it out. Tomorrow I will scrape off the silastic so Josh can reseal it for me.

Watched some more Desperate Housewives (Season 5) with the Josh while eating lots and lots of ice blocks :P

I worked out why I have been eating so much this week - at first I put it down to being upset about Tash but it has gone way beyond that. It suddenly dawned on me that it is because I increased my steriod meds this week to help a bout of arthritis flare ups. Dammit. So yeah, going back to normal dosage again...

Since Tash is constantly living under the spare bed in Josh's room now, I decided to go to him for cuddles & pats. So spent some time today lying on the floor, under that bed getting some pats and lovin' in. By the immediate purr response Tash seems happy about it too. At least this way I just don't feel like everything with him is the "work" stuff.

I spent some time surfing the blogs on this site during my middle of the night awake time... One blog I stumbled upon was talking about starting a Nighttime Journal to jot down those random thoughts, worries, or concerns that stop you falling asleep. This is a tool I have utilised in the past and am always amazed at just how effective it is - once I had written down the thing that was going around and around in my head, it was gone, put somewhere concrete for me to deal with later. Much better than it churning over and over in my head dozens of times waiting to fall asleep. And since I am having sleeping troubles alot lately, I am thinking I would definitely benefit from doing this again.

Had fun tonight with Josh. He was surfing the net and chatting with friends while I was doing dishes... anyway he had Grease Lightening song stuck in his head, so of course we listened to that and lots of other songs from Grease. It was alot of fun.

Just before 9 o'clock tonight there was a bang on the backdoor. The young boy next door had found a frog stuck on their back screen door and asked me to come rescue it. It was so adorable! Josh and I ended up walking down to the park at the end of the street to release the frog so he could be with his froggy friends :P

Isn't he gorgeous?!

Sweetest unexpected thing that was said to me -
puss o kram!! sov sött min söta! (That's so sweet, thanks Jorgen)

Compliment of the Day - Early this morning I went up the road to the bakery for buns and the woman that works there commented on how much healthier and happy I look now. What a wonderful way to start the day!

Thing that totally made my day -
Shane sent me Puddle of Mudd cd, Come Clean. Woohoo!! (Thanks Shane!!)

My lunch was spent chatting with my good friend Jorgen on msn and listening to music together via YouTube. Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Del Shannon, Abba were all part of our playlist. Nice to know he likes 'normal' music and not just the thump thump techno stuff hehehe

Mischievousness for the evening - smsing with my good friend Ruth and discussing how much we don't want to read any more of our bookclub book and coming up with a cheats way out of it - watch the movie together instead. LMAO

Today's Joke -
Q: How do you get an elephant into the fridge?
A: 1. Open door 2. Insert elephant 3. Close door.

Q: How do you get a giraffe into the fridge?
A: Open door 2. Remove elephant 3. Insert giraffe 4. Close door

The king of the jungle, the lion, decided to have a party. He invited every animal in the jungle but one didn't come. Which one?
A: The giraffe, because it was stuck in the fridge.
